I'm Joel, a graphic designer based in Santa Cruz, CA, with a background in digital marketing and brand identity. I'm at my best when using my creativity to solve a problem. Whether that problem is creating an email asset appropriate to sell a given product, creating a logo fitting for a client's identity, or a personal project such as developing an online "Fishbowl" gameplay app to enjoy with friends, the goal is always to find a flow state and craft something elegant that actually performs well.

According to the CliftonStrengths Assessment, I am strongest in the Learner theme, which means I have a strong desire to learn and continually improve. It's no surprise, then, that my favorite hobby is collecting hobbies, including: being a dog-father to two furry disasters, struggling around the golf course, embarrassing myself on the karaoke stage, getting hit with pickleballs, disguising my kook-status at the local surf break, throwing and sometimes catching ultimate frisbees, talking friends into acting in my films, and hunting for (but not finding any) treasure.
